  Ranch Activities:

  • Trail Rides

    • “Head ‘em up and move ‘em out” to the open Wyoming prairie as you join fellow cowpokes on a trail ride.  Enjoy the longhorn cattle, buffalo, antelope, and wildlife who share the range with you and your wranglers.  Don’t forget your boots and ten gallon hat.

  • Archery

    • Aim for perfection!  With a bit of practice you can notch an arrow and hit the bulls-eye.

  • 22 cal. Rifles

    • Join in a bit of friendly competition as you test your marksmanship at our .22 rifle range.  You’ll get to chose from a variety of targets as you learn to take aim.  If it’s your first time, our instructors will teach you to load and aim as well as remind you of gun safety.

  • Rappelling

    • Choose from our 16 foot or our32 foot rappelling tower walls to put your faith into action!  Our patient instructors use this challenge as a real life lesson of putting your faith in Christ, just as you put your faith in the rope and find it holds you!

  • Mountain Biking

    • As you follow our bike instructor on the bike paths, you will enjoy the Wyoming prairie, wildlife, and wide open skies.

  • Overnight camp-out @ covered wagons

    • Saddle up a horse or opt for a ride on the sheepherders’ wagon pulled by our Belgium horse team.  We will take you on an evening trail ride across the range and arrive at our campsite where you can roll out your bedroll by the campfire or in one of our covered wagons.  Join your friends for campfire songs and roasted marshmallows before falling asleep to the songs of the distant coyotes.  Wake up to the smell of biscuits and gravy cooked by one of our wranglers on the open fire.

  • White water canoe trips

    • We offer scenic canoe trips down the North Platte River.  You’ll see God in the beauty of the steep canyons, the eagles soaring above, the deer and elk drinking by the bank and the challenge of the white water rapids.

  • Lake trips with Pontoon boat and/or ski boat

    • Come with us to a Wyoming size-swimmin’ hole called Glendo Reservoir.  Cool off in the Red Cliffs Cove or choose a full day trip to Sandy Beach and we’ll provide the lunch.  We also provide water activities including a custom pontoon boat with waterslide, high dive, trampoline, and individual kayaks.  You can also choose to ride on our inner tubes or banana pulled by the ski boat.  For the land lubbers there are rays to catch and sand castles to build.  Or round up a game of sand volleyball or softball.

   Fort Activities:

  • 45 cal. Black powder Rifles

    • First, pour the powder down the barrel, then add the patch and musket ball, ramrod it all down the barrel and add a cap.  You’ll gain an appreciation for the old timers as you learn to load a black powder gun and experience the loud bang of gunfire and the cloud of smoke.

  • Tomahawk throwing

    • Point your elbow, bring your hand back by your ear and throw the tomahawk at the target!  It’s the rotation of the tomahawk, not how hard you throw that makes it stick into the target.

  • Vaulting on horseback (gymnastics)

    • “Look mom, no hands!” The windmill, the swan, a summersault, you can find yourself kneeling or even standing on the back of our vaulting horse as our instructor guides you thorough bareback tricks and you gain trust in the horse and confidence in your trick riding skills.

  • High ropes course

    • With the safety of the harness and the safety ropes, race your partner up the rope cargo net and engage in a game of fly and spider.  Chose to climb down the ropes or dare to be belayed down by your instructor.

  • Low ropes course

    • For the lil’ partners who need a place to use up some energy the low ropes course provides a junior size challenge in rope skills and fun games.

  • Orbitron

    • 150 unassisted back flips is the current goal to beat.  For the strong of stomach, the orbitron offers a different perspective of the ranch- upside down, backwards, or sideways at a variety of speeds!

  • BMX Bikes

    • Take our challenge course through the woods, creek bottom and sand washes!  Strap on a helmet and BMX ranch style.

   Weekly Rodeo Night:

  • All cowhands and guests are invited to sign up and participate in the weekly Lone Tree Ranch rodeo.  Our cowboys will challenge real Wyoming bulls for an eight-second ride out of the bucking chutes across from the grandstands!  We invite our guests to saddle up for the barrel race, flag race, egg race or goat tying events.  Grab a lariat and try your skills at roping a steer or a goat.  For the bold and brawny, bulldog a steer or help put the Lone Tree brand on one of our calves.  Got a team?  Each chuck wagon needs a team of four to pull a rider around the barrel and back home!  Every rodeo ends with laughter and our famous bat race- a dizzying relay team event.

Each activity is designed to challenge campers to stretch, grow, and experience God in a new way.  Activity instructors give short devotions, bible verses, and testimonies in a lesson that kids never forget because of its immediate relevance to that activity and their life.
